Scenario
Bobby is a high-functioning ninth grader who has autism.
He works with different paraprofessionals throughout the day, but there
is one of them he has difficulties interacting with.

There are many types of paraprofessionals for students to work with
at school. (Descriptive)
It can be difficult to get help from more than one paraprofessional.

Sometimes I dont know the paraprofessional very well and would
rather work with other people. (Perspective)
Sometimes I like to work on my own. (Perspective)
Every day Mrs. Jones will be in class to help me. (Descriptive)
Some days Mrs. Jones will ask if I need help. (Descriptive)
Some days I will be able to do the work on my own. (Descriptive)
On other days she will help me. (Descriptive)
It is okay to get help from Mrs. Jones. (Perspective)

Sometimes other kids need help, too. (Perspective)
I sometimes dont feel like working with Mrs. Jones because I want

When Mrs. Jones says "Hi" to me or asks me a question like,
"How are you today Bobby?" I can answer in a nice way like,
"Hi, Mrs. Jones" or "Im doing good" or "I
feel a little tired today." (Directive)
When Mrs. Jones asks, "Do you need any help?" I can say, "Yes,
I do," or "No, thank you, I want to try it on my own,"
or "May I get some help from a peer?" This is being polite.
